I just installed the Auxiliary Running Light kit on my '02 Ultra Classic. It checked out ok at the time, so I rode to work. I realized the problem the next morning while I was wiping off the seat and windshield when I noticed there were no lights on the bike. The problem ended up being a blown fuse. I removed the seat and disconnected the module and reconnected the wiring as stock and made it home with no further problems. Has anyone had any problems with this kit blowing the fuses??? Thanks
I had the same kit added onto my bike and haven't had any problems. The fuse and wiring should be able to handle the added power draw.
Sounds like you have a problem with your wiring......possibly a short someplace. Did you use a decent gauge wire, or did you go cheap?
I don't know what you mean by cheap wiring, I bought the HD unit and it plugs into the existing plugs on the wiring harness going to the rear of the bike, there are no other wires to run or connect. I wouldn't think I had a short because I have been several thousand miles on this bike with no electrical problems until I plugged in HD running Light kit.
See if you don't have a bare wire from the light kit grounding out and blowing the fuse. I have the same kit and it's been perfect for years. I hate elec. problems. Good luck
Presuming you had zero problems with the lights and electrical system before the upgrade, the problem has to be related to the lights you added. Check all of your connections, especially for a pinched or crimped wire, it doesn't have to be cut through to be a problem.

Just trying to narrow things down here.......by "cheap wiring", I meant too small of gauge, or very thin insulation on it. I didn't know if your kit contained everything needed or not.
Sounds like it could be a problem with the module, or a shorted wire as mentioned by several others above.
If you have lowered you bikes rear, pull the rear tire and look for a cut in the wiring that the tire rubbed thru. This is a common problem with the lowering kits and may be your problem. Doc
