I just bought an auxiliary forward light kit (69818-06, 68000042) for my 2012 FLHX. No where in the instructions does it say where to wire in the right and left lamps. The switch wiring is clear and so is the assembly more or less, but I have no idea where to wire in the lamps. Can anyone help? Thanks
I went through the same thing a couple of weeks ago, instructions blow.
The gray wire from the lights plugs into the same connector as the run/turn signal lights. If you look a the mating connector in the fairing you will see the gray wire is already there.
They are the some of the worst instructions I have seen. I understand why HD would want you to take your bike to them for the installation thinking you just might have a few dollars left in your wallet, but sheesh.....those instructions are bad even for someone that is very mechanically inclined. I sure am grateful for you guys and this forum.
If your referring to the auxiliary lights then its simple. First off its plug and play. Disconnect you blinker/running lights and install and plug in your auxiliary lights where you unplugged your blinkers.. Then under the dash pull down the plug. On the back of the plug there the wires are numbered. Just remove plug number 2 and put it in slot 7. This will allow you to use your aux switch on the dash to run the spotlights. Simple.
