Change the bars today on my 08 RK to the new heritage style (HD 56902). What a huge difference when it comes to comfort. No more having to lean forward with the original bars.
Job took me about 4 hrs. ( shop wanted 5 hrs labor) taking my time and requires no cable or wire changes. Pulls the bars back about 2" - 3" and up an inch or so by the feel of it. If you are considering heritage bars you will not be dissapointed..
Glad to know you like them. I am planning on putting them on mine. I guess the 07 and 08's have the same stock bars. Those inches really make the difference?
I have them on mine, easily the most comfortable bars that I have ever tried. I am not the biggest fan of the looks though, wouldn't mind something with a little bit lower of profile.

what i like about them is 1) comfort level and 2) no wire or cable changes. Yes there probably is better looking bars out there, but two out of three works for me.
Are those with the stock 1 inch risers? I sat on a new Heritage last summer and thought that fit of the handle bars was very comfortable too, so I found a take off Heritage bar at the dealer, don't the year of the bar.
So got the stuff to change over, but haven't done it yet.
Kinda thinkin' that I might have to get longer cables from what I currently have.
I am currently runnin' drags but they are on 9.5 inch pullback risers. Just looked at the handlebar too and it is the older one 56569-86. When I sat on one this past summer, I'm assuming that this was an 08 Heritage. Is the new handlebar that you are referring to wd on the 09 or when did it replace the 56569-86?
Lion,
I changed the stock bars on my 2004 RK to the stock bars you have about 3 weeks ago, I went with the chrome ones though, not the stock s/s, but they are exactly the same bend. It was worth the 2-3 hrs. of labor and yes, all of the stock cables and the brake line fit w/o any modifications at all. The only thing you may have/want to to with the solid brake line off the master cylinder is to bend it a little so it follows the bars more, but that is a visual choice, not mandatory. I loosened the banjo bolt on the master cylinder just a hair and moved the line that way, but still no fitment issues and much more comfortable.
Were those with the stock 1 inch risers Dglide, or something other?
Thanx..
I actually would like the wild 1' chubbies, but, well you know the price of them, couple hundred bucks, little on the high side for me. Nice butttttttt... LOLOL!!
