Default Battery Replacement
Need to replace mine this Winter. What do you use, HD or something else?

Just got back from our annual October ride. First day out, my buddy's 2000 EG cooked it's alternator stator. The engine shut down when the battery dropped below 8 volts. Anyway, I rode back to the previous town (fortunately only 12 miles back) and bought a new battery at a local NAPA store. It cost $116 but fit perfectly. Don't know that the "Harley" branded battery would cost but I can't imagine it being any cheaper!

What brand from NAPA? Anyone know who make's HD batteries?

It was NAPA branded. Where they get them from, I have no idea. It allowed us to limp the bike back 60 miles south to the closest Harley dealer in Texasarkana.

I would go with the HD battery. Some have use the Interstate Battery.

AGM makes the battery for HD.

My boy works at Napa. Guess I'll check out what my cost would be for a replacement. $130. for a MoCo battery? Ouch!

Soos, let us know what you find out. I want a good battery, but dang, $130 to $150 for a battery is a bit much.

If they made a direct replacement I would go with Odyssey but as for the others its a crap shoot.
