Just bought my 2006 ultra couple weeks ago, its got 74,000 miles on it out of warranty of course, but dealer did give me a 30 day warranty!!!
So I had it back to them to check a few things, I dropped it off Saturday you have it all week I will be out of town!!! Called wednesday they were putting in a fuel gage and timing chain tensioners !!! I asked about the Injector Issue service writer says Ill get back with you !!! So friday On my way home I called said it will not be ready untill late Friday cause there finishing up putting the injectors in!!!!
I got there total bill 660.00 I paid nothing !!!!! I was very surprised cause I thought they would not cover injectors if It was out of warranty!!!
There was a recall on early 06 model injectors. If the customer complained about poor running the dealers were instructed to replace them. There is way to identify them but I don't remember how it was. I am sure somebody will chime in though.
I had this done on my 06 EGC--there were issues with the stock 3 nozzle injectors--so HD would replace them with the 8 nozzle 25 degree injectors used on the CVO models--only if the customer complained. I belive HD permanently switched to the 25 degree one in model year 07.
Nice of the dealer to replace the tensioners.Did you have complaints of engine noise?I could be wrong ,but sounds like they were going to let this slip by the 30 day warranty if no one said anything.
Yea Thats whats funny !!!!! Bike was run thru our service department all checked out good!!!!!!!! With that amount of miles thats why I said 30 day warranty no sale!!!!!
I am a Ford Technician so the miles really didnt bother me cuae first thing Im going to do is a BB kit and cams!!!!!
I had mine changed to the 25 degree injectors and gained 10mpg. I knew when i bought it 32mpg sucked but they would not admit it was abnormal. once I asked them to change the injectors it was much better.
