I put on burley lowering bracket on my 06 roadking looks good feels good i went on a ride yesterday for the first time since putting it on it kept bottoming out i checked the air in shocks it was fine,i put a little more air in it no luck, any of u had this problem or maybe i didnt put them on right the instructions r a little blurry i know i put them on the right side maybe i missed something do u have any pics of brackets installed.. the stealer i got it from says no prob should be fine,i tried to take back no luck.........what to do?
If this is the bracket that relocates the shocks backwards to a different angle .... Ive installed several of these types from different mfg's and almost all of them had the same issues.
When the shock angle is changed, it reduces the amount of downward force needed to collapse the shocks ... so the tire easily hits the inside of the fender.
The only fixes I know of is to run max air pressure in the shocks or remove the brackets & go with shorter shocks like Progressive. The FLHX air shocks are 3/4" lower than standard RK shocks.
There is a bracket that moves the shocks downwards instead of backwards ... but I cant recall who makes them.
I installed a set from Bikersdelight on line, last spring. Recently, the stock shocks won't hold air and they bottom out causing the tire to scrape up in the fender on bumps. I think maybe the increased angle has put excessive air pressure on the air nut on the top of the shock. Dealer didn't have any in stock when I went up there today. Will know at the end of the week.

Why not do it right? Put some real shocks on there instead of the blocks.
I tried a set of those blocks on my '07 Ultra, 60 miles down the road riding 2-up and I had to have the dealer replace the rear wiring harness and rear tire. It was bottoming out right on the wiring harness.....Be Careful with the cheap-o lowering blocks.
