Default Binding ISO throttle grip

I just purchased some ISO grips for 08 touring models. I removed the stock throttle side grip and slid on the ISO grip making sure the gears fit right. The new grip binds just enough so it will not spring back properly. With the old grip it springs back fine? Am I doing something wrong? Or is the new grip faulty? Or should I sand the inside of the grip somehow to make it fit, or just take them back? Thanks Catfish

You might try popping the grip back off and using some of the powdered graphite lubricant and spreading it around either inside the grip and/or on the bar

Make sure you are putting the correct grip on the right side. I just installed OEM H-D Skull/foam grips yesterday and inadvertently tried installing the left grip on the right side and it would rotate but was binding also. I reread the instructions and discovered the err of my ways. I also gave the bar a thin coat of vasilne to help out and it works like a charm.

Another possibility - Could you have pushed them too far up? I've heard of others that had them clamped too far up the handle bar and the grip was binding on inside of the clamp. It's ok for a minor amount of slop where it rides in the clamp.

Thanks everyone problem fixed. I just shoved the back end of a screwdriver inside the grip mashed it around a bit till the SOB spread enough on the inside so it don't stick. Problem solved. Thanks
