Stopped for a few minutes last night and then restarted my bike. It started fine, but would idle only; I had no throttle response. Thankfully, I'd read on this forum previously that the new TBW looses zero throttle position if you mistakenly twist the throttle while shutting down. I believe that's what I did by accident.
Anyway, I cycled the IGN switch through OFF-ON-OFF about five times as suggested in other threads. She fired up and I had throttle. Boy, that saved me a tow. Afterwards, I noticed that the check eng. light stayed on for a longer period (about 10 secs.) after starting the bike. I also read here that that is an indication of fault codes.
Checked that out this morning. Sure enough I had two codes: P1511 & P2101. I cleared those out and everything seems ok. Nothing seems out of the ordinary now.
Does anyone have any ideas what these DTC codes are? The HD service manual doesn't cover that - BUMMER!
Those codes are indicating that the Throttle Control Actuator failed and put the bike in a limited performance mode. (probably due to the shutoff incident that you refer to)
The 8 second engine light indicates that they are historic codes, so I would not clear them, but inform your dealer that they are there. They should do a check just to make sure everything is OK.
