I have my SG on my table lift and I am wanting to get the rear tire off the table top.
Were are you guys placing the scissor jack to jack up the rear?
The two places that look like they would work is the cross member between the frame (looks a little flimsy) or on the Transmission pan (don't know if that is a good idea).
I agree, get a bike lift. Only $100 buck or less, and worth it. Place the lift just ahead of the cross member, the lift will support both sides of the frame, and it will lift an EG up level. I wouldnt use a regular jack, too much weight on too small of spot. Good luck!!

I don't plan on using a regular jack. I have a bike lift scissors jack and a drive on lift table. What I am trying to find out is were folks are positioning the jack under the rear when the bike is on the lift table to be able to raise the rear wheel.
