Had a bearing case come apart and the pieces damaged 4th & 5th gears in my trans.
Trailered my bike to the dealer on 9-29-08 and the dealer got the go ahead from my extended service plan on 10-2-08.
As of today the dealer has had my bike 20-days, I spoke with them on the phone this morning and they still are unable to give me a date when repairs will be finished.
The excuse is they say they're having trouble getting parts????
I'm begining to get alittle ticked-off but I'm not sure if 20-days is normal or not. I've been told that with parts in hand, this is a 4 hour repair???
If this time frame is not normal operations, what can I do, who can I talk to??? How do I get my bike back in a timely manner?
Real kicker is I had it to the dealer the week prior to 9-29 for noise coming from the area of the trans pully, they checked out for 3-days, basically told me nothing was wrong, then the bearing case pieces chewed up the gears 3-days later.
Took your advice and called customer service, which was poor service. My dealer ordered the part on 10-3-08, they just shipped it today, shipped UPS so I get to wait another 3 to 5 days for the part and then 4 hrs reassembly. Crazy, not sure why harley is getting so bad, seems to get worse every year. Makes the riceburner lookalikes/competition look better and better, will definitely remember this and other problems I've encountered when thinking about my next scooter purchase, gets to a point when a harley isn't worth the hassle/lack of good service. Probably when finally complete, I'll have 35 days in a 4hr repair, that's pitiful!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
