Yup, You're gettin' old! I said the same thing, and my only regret is that I went Streetglide instead of Roadglide! The RG's are hard to find at local dealers, and it's even harder to find a demo bike to ride. I recently had the chance to put some miles on a RG....anybody want my Streetglide? Whether you like that fairing or not, that's a great handling bike. And who needs a radio? ME! I love guages were I can see 'em and loud music for when it's been a long day! Buy it and don't look back!
The Road Glide has been a secret for quite some time, but that is changing fast. I went to my dealer yesterday to take a look at the '09 RG. No chance. They have none in stock and said that when they get them in they don't last more than a few days on the floor.
Shrink, thanks again for pointing out the mileage shot, but I went and looked at the bike again and it has 1570 miles on the odometer, so it probably was reset by the dealer at delivery.
genedjr, as for your comments you are right I did slap a bunch of chrome aftermarket parts and a $5000 paint job on it, and It gets a lot of attention. I do a lot of long distance riding and look cool doing it but don't feel so cool after a 600 mile day. That is why I'm getting the Road Glide with radio, tour pack, and fairing lowers. As of right now I'm keeping the 05 too and would like to put a bad a$$ motor in it sometime down the road.
Looks like I'll be bring her home this week.
Take it from me . . . that is a HELL of a deal. Jump on it NOW! That bike with the lowers and tourpak would cost at least 20K new. I paid 18K for mine bone stock.
I guess it's true about location having a lot to do with prices. I got my new RG ORDERED for me in the color I wanted and paid $16,250 for the stock bike. Added a few extras, V&H dual headers& pipes, PC3&tune, Sundowner seat, air-adjustable backrest and the trunk and paid just over $20 out the door. That's why I said I'd offer a little less

For years I thought the Road Glide was Harley's Ugly Duckling. Something happened a couple of years ago. I saw one of the Ugly Ducklings and somehow it had turned into a Swan and I wanted one. I have had my Road Glide for a year now and love it.
Thanks Skulmn, I don't know why but I think the whole skull thing is cool and I'll probably be doing the same with this bike too.
I'll post some pictures as soon as I get the new (used) one home. I'm already making a shopping list for all the things I want to buy. This bike is definitely a blank canvas since it doesn't even have the stage 1 or pipes yet. I hate to even ask what pipes to run since thats like asking Ford or Chevy. I'm going back and forth between Rineharts, D&D 2 into 1, or just sticking with what I'm using on the RK Vance & Hines Pro Pipe 2 into 1.
