My ex-girlfriend use to always fall asleep. I felt pretty safe with her doing that on my Ultra considering she also did it regularly on the back of my Triumph Speed Triple. It is a good thing she dosn't move around when she sleeps.
Yep, she does fall asleep alot. It's the purring of the engine the comfy seat the cool air, but she can't fall out. I have a rider's backrest and the tourpak. I changed to the mustang seat which has longer arms and is a more solid mount. At any rate she's not going anywhere, now the real problem is me... I've found myself falling asleep that is scary as all get out. Ususally on long boring freeway rides. I scream at myself, smack my cheeks to get the blood running and then stop and eat a candy bar which usually helps... anyon else have this problem??
I don't know how many times I've been head butted in the back of the head by my wife when she falls asleep and her head bobs forward. Not so bad when wearing a helmet, but we live in Illinois and don't usually. Kinda hurts when its skull to skull.
She used to fall asleep once in awhile on my Sportster. Almost lost her once before I put on the tall backrest. It's more common on the Ultra. She's never almost fallen off though. I do ride with a drivers backrest, so she kinda sits "in the hole" , wedged between my backrest and hers.
my wife falls asleep regularly, but a couple years ago she passed out due to dehydration, and fell off ...face first as i was pullng away from a stop, had been doing 70 m.p.h. all day. her foot was caught behind the passenger floorboard and i couldnt put the bike on the kickstand.. luckly buddies behind me were able to stop traffic and free her. ended up in the hospital. nodays when her helmet clunks me in the back of the head i panic.
My wife has fallen asleep several times on long stretches of highway. Never so deep of a sleep that she hasn't woke up at a stop, drastic change of speed or a bigger bump in the road. Funny thing is I never realized she did this until she told me.
