In this economy, I'll be surprised if they make it 3 years. Maybe selling leather and t-shirts. But $30K+ motorcycles, I don't think so. Let's just watch and see. I wrote them an email when they first sent me the intro to their new line asking for comments. They didn't even bother to answer. That tells me how much they really care about what the folks on the ground really think. I don't think there's a love of motorcycles at the root of their endeavor. I think it's a love of $$, and they thought they could cash in on all the disposable income that was out there in the early part of this century... We'll see.
If I wanted that look, I'd get a vintage Indian or a Honda Drifter long before I'd buy one of the late model Indians.
A buddy of mine actually put together a pretty nice little Drifter. It draws more attention than a lot of bikes that cost 20x as much as he has invested (gotta love his air cleaner).
