Yesterday I went on a nice ride to the highest point in Florida, when I arrived, I smelled oil. I decided to check it out, damn oil leaking from front of oil pan and oil seeping from case, right before it meets tranny on left hand side of bike (where case is two pieces). Luckily it's not leaking that bad, but leaking none the less. It's upsetting that my 07 Road king with only 12k has a leak, but i'm sure it could happen to anyone. ANYWAY....has anyone else had simular trouble and what was the outcome/cause of the problem? Right now, it's sitting at Harley of Ft Walton Beach....hopefully I will get a good diognosis tomorrow and let evryone know.
My 2007 done this at the same k's it was covered by warranty . I had the 103 kit and screaming eagle main bearing fitted when it was apart. I paid for the the pistons, boring of cylinders and Andrew 54h cams to be fitted. Harley paid most of the labor cost
I got a partial answer today, my oil pan gasket gave way so they replaced it. Unfortunatley my bike threw a code, appearantly my bike has a problem with the "nuetral switch area". They said they will have to run the electrical problem down my bars (have internal wiring).

I know exactly how you feel. My new 07 started leaking on the first long trip we took last year. Bike only had 2K on it when it started leaking out of the rear cylinder base O-ring. Wasn't pouring out but did make a mees out of the engine. We finished the trip and stopped by the dealer on the way home. Engine covered with oil and dirt so it was easy to see where it was leaking.
Result was that both jugs had to be pulled and have new O-rings installed. No leaks since. No big deal really since the warranty covered the work and it was done perfectly.
Sounds like you have the right attitude. Don't get excited . . . that's what the warranty is for.
