I was in your position last year, I searched High and low for the loud crisp sound. I now have just what the doctor ordered, VH Big shot.

I have Vance and Hines Oval slip ons on my bike. Good deep sound, but not loud enough to bother the neighbors.

Had straights with BigCityThunders on My FXDL, went to ThunderHeader before I traded up. now that I got my newun,,, It will have ThunderCones. IMO, best tone and best volume. The more you ring its neck, the louder they get.

I installed the Rush Slip On Pipes on mine and I really like them, they are not overly Loud but have a nice Rumble to them and sound good at Cruising Speed!
