Default Pipes

The thing I liked most about the Bub 7's is the clean look and they were one of the few that had the downward slash-cut, which I think looks great following the angle of the bags...but then again, I'm an architect, so things like that matter!

A friend of mine runs Tailgunner's (look like rotary machine gun) on his Ultra...great sound also...again, I follow him a lot though.

Default Bubs too loud???

Can you clarify this please. Are you saying the Bub7's are too loud or do you have other pipes? I have the Bub7's with the crossover and they excellent.

By the way, if I remember correctly you can install them slash up if you want to get daring... As for me the slash down flowed better and I'm not an architect, but I am a bit compulsive....

Default cough?

Hey JC, have you had any problems with your RK coughing and stalling at idle? That's what I've been dealing with lately. Seems like ever since the temperature got below 50, it's been a problem. It starts fine and idles fine at start. I pull away and then when I come to my first or second stop, I have to open up the throttle a tick otherwise it wants to stall. Just curious. Of course, I did all the mods myself and haven't gotten it in for a dyno yet.

I couldnt agree more.. Had them on a 88" Fat Boy. Much louder than my Bourget with a high compression, built 117" and pipes under 2' long...at least to the rider. Couldnt ride the Fat boy without ear plugs.

I've actually had all the pipes mentioned as the top 4 responses. As far as loud goes, the RH's are just about as sweet sounding as you can get with a big motor...but I don't think they're loud..just deep, very deep and rumbly like like old chevelle. Now when you get on 'em they do lite up.

The v&h big shots on my 103" '05 SEEG including standard baffles, were insane loud and I had to order the quiet baffles just to keep all the car alarms for a .5 square mile from going off. Loud were what these pipes brought to the party cause they impacted my performance and soon were sold.

The Bub7's are what I have now on my 103" flhx and they're not loud at all, but have the sound I was looking for. Deep like the RH but at criusing they settle down and I can enjoy the ride. Again, when I get on it, they do lite up pretty loud.

The thunderheaders are assume. I had the 2into1 on an 88" RK and they were just crazy in both performace and sound. I have a buddy with a 110" flhx and at idle it just sounds like a monster. Plus when he gets on it...that thing sounds like it's going to bite you..! Great pipes..!!

Loud is kinda subjective..loud can be deep and bellowy or it can be kinda raspy and tinney..

No matter what you get, even if it's not one of these, you'll be diggin your bike with new pipes and the sound of that vtwin waking up..
