Does anyone have the GPS download that Harley puts in their radio?? If so, do you like it? I wouldn't mind getting that if it is decent that way don't have anything hanging off my handlebars.
I'll say this again, I used a Garmin 2720 which is motorcycle compatible and water proof it has every function of the top of the line ones you can pick them up on e-bay refurbished with 1 yr warranty for about 136.00 then buy a ram mount for 35.00 and a hard wire for 18.00 and u r all set put ear buds in if you want and your done all for under 200.00 works great.
harley radio nav system sucks.. screen's too small to read.. same with their Quest system
after 2 long trips using them, I broke down and got the zump 550 - bigger screen and easier to use.. 'nother nice built in feature? - you can stick a 2 gig chip in it loaded with your mp3 files.. it'll play them, sort them, shuffle them.. just connect the zumo to the Aux in jack on the radio.. stopped me from swapping out data cds
pcnation was great with price and shipping.. also had an extended warranty avail.
zump 550 comes with the car kit included

I have the Harley GPS add on unit for the HK radio. It is not a download but a add-on gps unit and antenna under the fairing cap intregrated into the radio. I did not want a big thing hanging on my handlebars, power wires running everywhere and worrying about taking it off or getting stolen etc etc. Did not need bluetooth or mp3 player. The screen is easy to see in either regular or split screen with the radio info. Voice commands are clear with plenty of time to react. Takes a little to learn how to use it. Route planning is not as sophiscated as the Garmin but it works for me. I have the Garmen 750 in my pickup and like it.
I had the Magellan 3250 for the car.
Picked it up off the net for $200.
There are several companies out there that make mounts for GPS units.
I like the company RAM Mount.
They have an adaptable mount in which you can swap out the GPS for a camera or other device.
It has a lot of flexibility.
Also be careful cutting the power cord to your GPS and hard wiring it.
Many GPS units run at 5v and the 12v system of your bike will fry it.
There are companies out there that sell direct wire cords with a fuse and voltage reducer built in for about $20..
