I need to lower my wifes Road King, so I bought a lowering kit from Raod6Customs off ebay. I first emailed them about rubbing and they said, never rubs, dont worry.
I installed it on the last (lowest) setting and it rubbed pulling out of the drive way. Moved it up to the middle, rubbed when you hit any little bump. Moved it to the highest setting, which helps my wife none and it still rubs on every bump. This is with just my wife riding, image 2 Yup :-(
I contact them and he says "something is wrong with your suspension, these kits never rub. Return it if you dont like it."
I send it back in the same box it came in and wait. 3 weeks now and nothing, try calling the number and its a fax line. I send them and email asking for my refund or I will leave negative feedback... Nothing.
I have heard lots of stories about this lowering kit here, I just wanted to start a thread so everyone can post their experiences and stay away from this product.
I know a lot of people come here for advice and opinions, My opinion, STAY AWAY FROM Road6Customs on Ebay.
I run mine in the middle (2") also without rubbing two up. That being said, these guys are known for not responding when you have issues or questions. I sent two emails for some help during install...no answers at all. I wouldn't buy from them again either.
No problems here either. Set in the 2" drop position with 50#'s of air. I also had it in the 3" drop position with 25#'s and it only rubbed on large bumps in the road.
can you posta pic of the lowering piece you have. want to compare it ot mine have had rubbing issues too but can't remmeber which type i have now lol. The onbe your describing sounds alot like mine though with 3 different positions. Loved the look and the ride so be nice to figure it out may have to just pound the air to suspension How much pressure can the shocks take?
I've used that POS kit, anyone that says it doesn't rub obviously doesn't ride much. I only wiegh 200lbs (one up rider) and had the shocks full and the back tire drug in the top of the fender so much I removed the piece of crap after about 100 miles.
I replaced it with a set of short Progressive air shocks and have never had another problem.
