Question hidden antenna

I bought an 09 RG bout 2 mos. ago. I ordered the detach T/P and this "hidden antenna". After reading threads about the poor reception with them, I was wondering if the antenna wires could be coupled so that I would have the hidden antenna in front and maybe a super shorty in da back that would help reception and not interfere with the detach box. Any ideas. I'm taking it in sat. to get it all installed and want to know if this might be possible.

I have a 00 egc, every now and then I pull off my tour pack (hard mounted) just for a sportier look, I made a "L" bracket and moved the original ant to the lower left side, works great, tie wraps and stuff. My brother has the "hidden ant" and HATES it.

I installed the dakota digital antenna in my front fairing and enjoy the look of my SG without an antenna stick up like a flag pole. I have lost some reception but for the most part I like the way it works. Of course, I don't use my radio all the time, just when I'm on a boring interstate taking a long ride.

Same antenna, same place, no problems.

thanks guys. I talked to the service rep 2day and he said that they have installed a shorty on some with T/P's and felt sure they didn't interfere. Think I just saved a bunch of labor $ That means it goes on some other mod
