Sea foam will maintain fuel intergity for up to 2 years. It displaces water, It is a mineral product, Not so much a chemical. When added to engine oil @ 2 oz per liter, it will turn dried deposits back into a liquid so the oil filter can trap it. maintenance dosage for fuel is around 1 oz per gallon of gas. For a very dirty fuel system you can drop in 1/2 a bottle in a full tank as long as you run it empty & refill with strait gas after.
You dont want a heavy concentration on your seals very long as it will begin to erode them. Much info available if you google the product!
I used it to help my old clutch pack to get me through the summer & I could feel the difference right away!
I use it in everything with a sparkplug; lawn mower, snowblower, leafblower, chainsaw, weedeater, 90 hp outboard, 3 different motorcycles. Never had a problem with the gas going stale over long storage periods. Stabil is a good product too, just more expensive when you start putting it in everything.
For storage I like the Sta-Bil much better, but for general maintenance Seafoam works well. I use it every oil change in my 15 year old Ford Bronco. I add half a can to the fuel tank and suck the other half through the brake booster vac hose method. The first time I used it that way (through the intake) it kicked out a cloud of smoke where I was thinking someone is going to call the FD. Now though.....not too much smoke at all. Never tried it in any of my bikes. I always use 93> octaine and the fuel has plenty of detergents in it already. Right now I have already added Sta-bil to my Street Glide....and as soon as I get any thought of Indian Summer out of my head....I will do the same with the SE-Deuce.
I also own a Kawasaki (my apologies) and all the peeps on that forum swear by it.
I thought it was a shaving cream so with the full beard I never tried it.
I have used it in cars with great success. I don't put any of that stuff in my bike though. Tried it in my old evo and it wouldn't run right. not sure about the fuel injected ones now but i don't chance it.
