I would recommend the mustang seat, I have 08 street glide and did not like the stock seat, the mustang seat is definitely built for the long ride, I rode to Pennsylvania from my house (430 miles ) and never even had any problems with the seat

Just like Ultra110 said, if you go with a new seat, remember it may take awhile to break it in. Took me around 4,000 for my Mustang solo. Stock S/G seat was to wide for me in the front.
How tall are you? Inseam? What part of the seat took 4000 miles. The entire seat or the edges, or etc??
I'm 5'8" / 30" inseam and love my new Mustang with one exception. I wish the edge under my thighs was a little more round. I've got a new hip and it puts just a little pressure under my femure bone and torques my hip a little. Mostly feel sore after a lot of traffic lights or stops. Any distance and I love it. Really love it alot!! So I'm trying to ride more!!
Mean City Cycles is the place to get her modified, especially if you like the "look" of the stock seat. If you talk real nice to Allen you might be able to make it a destination ride and get it done in person.
I like the idea of a field trip to VA, except I'm in the busy season right now and can't get away for that long. I've thought about a local leather guy in this area but it makes me nervous. I also was told by Mustang at Biketoberfest that there is a company in Jacksonville that they recommend so I'm putting a call in to Mustang. That would be an overnighter.
thanks for the suggestions. I emailed Allen at MCC and it seems he is having a problem getting colored leather, even black. Can't beat the price when he can finallly gets the material. thanks again!
