Got nearly 32K miles on my '02 Rk, stock seat.... just fine for me (although looking for a new "take-off", as mine is FINALLY starting to crush and get a little less comfortable (and the stiched logo is almost worn off)).
That's what started my search. My '01 seat is perfect on the outside and even though it only has 22000 miles, it is still an '01 and started to soften badly. I'm going to have it redone but probably will have the leather changed on the accent areas.......or something!
I am loving my Mustang Solo more and more every day.
The seat makes a big difference. For me, the standard seat was too low and my GF too complained that her rear end hurt after and hour or two. Getting home from a long ride took a long time due to all the breaks we needed to take. I purchased the HD tall boy seat and it helped both her and I. The tall boy seat does take away from the low look of the street glide but in return the passenger is much happier and tall riders more comfortable. And I don't think the Tall Boy seat takes away from the cycle's looks at all.
