I miss El Paso, was an instructor at Ft Bliss, could not afford a Harley back then but great riding country there and up in NM. Thinking about doing a run there this summer.
I was raised in NT. Winter keeps me from returning. Best of luck for a few good riding days. Keep the tank filled and the tender plugged in....fresh oil. That's about all you can do.
It was almost 90 here in Northern California today. I'm putting off winterizing the bikes until it gets into the 70's I think. Or maybe I'll wait til H3LL freezes over....
Can't bring myself to do it yet. Got a couple hundred miles in today. Been a few weeks since I had the time to ride. It was brisk but oh what fun. I will winterize when the snow hits....or not.

Worst thread this forum has created..... BRRRRRRrrrrrrr..... Welcome to Montana.... Still a few days left but none of this warm stuff y'all are talking about. Time for a trip to Vegas.
I'm in So Cal but grew up in the Chicago area so I know how miserable winter can be. I empathize with all of you that's for sure!
I'd say once or twice a month take it for at least a 30 min or if possible a 45-60 minute ride and you'll be just fine. Park it in the garage with a full tank, add Sta-Bil and plug the battery tender into it and you'll have no problems. Maybe parking the bike on a carpet rather than bare cement might be good for it too.
Owned a Yamaha Road Star from 01 to this June 08 when I purchased Vivid Black Road King Classic I always wanted. (which by the way.......yes I love it!) Road Star sat in carpeted garage just fine, kept battery up and tank full with a fresh oil change going into winter. Some winters it sat for 3 months due to bad weather, most winters though could get it out at least once or twice a month.
Plan on same thing for the beloved RKC and it appears by this thread it will be OK. Glad to see the thread......something that had been in the back of my mind. Thanks!
