I presently have a Tom Tom. I fixed up a magnetic tank bag so the Tom Tom sits in it protected from the rain, but I can still use it. It has been a great unit, but I plan to replace it with the Garmin 780. I like the MP3 player builded in. (no longer have to carry my IPOD). I also like that it has blue tooth. Not sure if I would use it, but nice to have. I have also heard good things about it, so I thought I would give it a try.
YES... and another yes. I have used the Zumo 550 for a couple of years now on two baggers. I use it for long distance trips and around the state. I would give up any accessory except this one. For long traveling it is great... once you understand how it works and can effectively use it, it becomes an essential accessory for road trips. Hotels, gas, food, re-routing, stores, driving times, H-D dealerships, and more... It has made two cross-country, two-week, trips very easy to manage while on the road. Especially out west and wondering where to gas and stay. AS others have mentioned... buy it discounted.
I use the TomTom 720. I believe all SatNavs are much of a muchness, but..
The TomTom has a really neat Ipod control interface. I bought a good quality mount and modified it to bring in the Ipod cable. This arrangement works a treat. From a single cigarette light type power point I power up the satnav, piggyback on to the Ipod and charge that as well, can control the Ipod through the TomTom screen, which has nice big "buttons" that are easy to use even with thick gloves on. A 3.5mm jack goes in to the Aux on the advanced audio system an I am away. I have photo's of the arrangment, if anyone wants then mail me and I will e-mail these to you
$129.99 includes FREE shipping. You need to select budget shipping to get free shipping. The default is not budget upon check out. I had another thread about this GPS a month ago because it was available for only $99 then but sold out within the day. Still a very nice deal considering the full features and it's brand new, NOT reconditioned..
