If you already scrape your boards you will do it a hell of allot more when you add 3/4 of an inch to the bottom. Also they look very dangerous if you have to make an evasive maneuver in an emergency situation (4 inchs of metal sticking out from your floorboards).

I am not familiar with these pegs but they sound interesting. Does anyone have a pic or a link to see them?

I have the FBI Jack-knife pegs on my 2008 Street Glide. I did the install myself - the pegs came with directions and a video explanation. The grinding was more than I expected, but completely manageable for me (and I am not very technically experienced).

The pegs provide some good foot positions, but still don't allow for a complete stretch of my legs.

Take a look under your floorboards. The black tube supports extend down farther than the pegs do. The supports drag before the jac knife ever will.

There is an adjustable ball/spring so you can make them tighter or looser. Mine are just tight enough to remain extended at highway speed. I want them to be able to swing in with minimum effort to avoid it being a pivot point when it would contact the ground r an evasive maneuver.

While riding, you want to be able to slip the toe of your boot under the floorboard and pull it open. If the tension is too tight when you try to "pull" it open your foot can slid down and catch the road and get twisted back and under the floorboard. Don't ask me how I know. With it adjusted correctly it will pop open easily into position. My bike is very low and this is not nearly the issue on a stock height bike.

Thanks for the info. That is very helpful.

I guess does anyone else know of a similar product to the FBI jac knife pegs? I am more interested in a full board than having to cut and grind my current boards. Thanks

They are actually call IMT (www.imtnebraska.com) they do install for free. I noticed them on the Iron Aces web site for 10% off now through the 15th of this month.
