As previously stated, the riding here is excellent. We ride year round and have a great group that sets up rides almost every weekend. These are the best people you could hope to meet. Check out the Southwest Forum for some of our posts. They include a lot of pics too. The state is very diverse in geography and climate. To avoid the summer heat we ride up to the mountains early in the day and return after sunset. No need to stop riding any time of the year. Do I hop on my bike for a quick afternoon ride in August? He11 no, but it is only an hour ride to higher ground and cooler weather and the scenery is awesome! A day trip in the mountains is the answer to the desert heat. Winters are the opposite. Stay out of the mountains and the weather can't be beat.
Well yesterday I had 4 wisdoms pulled, I know, 51 and just now getting it done!? When I go back to the office Monday I will be calling Boss and getting out for visit as noted. You guys have been great..........I will post again when I am going out for the visit. Might rent at Mother Road HD and meet up somewhere?
Yer comming from the midwest and yer gonna have a big culture shock if you move to any place in the Southwest. Some people I know have adjusted and stayed, others have moved back. It's different.
AZ is awesome for year 'round riding. It'll be very hot in Kingman June-Oct but not too bad for a night ride even in the worst heat. AZ scenery is second to none. Trees are overrated, but we got plenty of those in the White Mtns just in case you miss 'em.
GREAT PIX!! Thanks... And riding bareback too! No windshield's allowed in AZ huh... Good stuff...
Got good friends from the Heritage Springer Owners Association in Lolo and also Mizzoula. I love the riding up there as well!!!
I love riding without the glass up front, and if I had my druthers, I would only keep the helmet in my bag for when it starts hailing. Yes, it's happened to me and it SUCKS.
I would be remiss if I didn't mention Prescott, AZ. GREAT riding all around and a REALLY nice town built around the old courthouse square. Also home of Steve and GMR Performance...not only a really great guy but one HE!! of a builder! Your bike will thank you!
This is why I love this forum........great group of guys (and a few gals), always willing to help and pitch in with info! Sitting here where the high today is going to be 28 F, can't get there fast enough!!
