Myrtle Beach
Man oh man, be alert not biker friendly in that town. City Council just passed 14 new laws towards motorcyles including helmet and exhaust..............read the article in Easy.......
Yep, the city of Myrtle Beach has turned out the welcome sign for the biker family. But the rallies are still going to happen. The city is not the only place to go when down there. Stay away from the city and enjoy your self. Here's a web site to help you : www.ibiker.org. Everybody who is planning on attending next years rally, make your reservations outside of the city. Go and enjoy yourself. We and a bunch from Pa. are doing that exactly. For short, "not one dime in 09". By the way, the city of North Myrtle Beach is welcoming us with open arms.

No!!! don't let them win! Go. Spend your money in the nearby cities and take the by-pass around MB. That's just their way of trying to sqoosh out "bikers", "riders", and motorcycles in general. I'll NOT roll over!
I agree, just stay away from the city, its not right what they are doing is pure discrimination but they will lose big time in the long run. I feel bad for the snmall business guy trying to make a living especialy in this economy.
The MB Government is made up of a bunch of idiots. I know, I live here. The Spring Rally has been going on for years bringing 300,000 bikers into the area. Do we have some problems? Sure we do, but we also have problems with drunk golfers, high school kids that walk out of restaurants without paying for their meal, or any other issue that comes with being a resort town.
I've rented my condo to fellow bikers the last two years for both the Spring and Fall rally, and I've never had a problem.
The city cannot afford to lose the bikers, especially with the downturn in the economy. The Hard Rock Park was supposed to be our salvation earlier this year. It opened in May, went belly-up a couple of weeks ago.
We cannot afford to lose the bike rallies.
PS, if there is anyone still coming, I have a condo available that sleeps 10, although it's in the city limits of MB.

i'm not a big crowd kinda person so my opinion may be a little skewed, but i just don't understand the 'don't let them win' kind of attitude. they may 'win' what they wanted, which was keeping bikers out, but in the long run, they will lose. if you take the rallies and go somewhere else, then when they figured out that they actually lost, it will be much harder for them to attract it back.
i'm a stubborn enough sumbitch that if you show me you don't want me around, i'm not gonna hang around by your back porch until you figure out that, hey, having me around wasn't quite so bad. so when you decided to unlock the back door, it won't do any good, cause i'll be 3 states away and won't notice. but i'll still be having a good ole time! sucks to be you. this is a big country, and there's lots of nice places to go. and there are a lot of little towns, struggling to make it in this (or any) economy that would love to have some of your money coming in. don't be a lemming, start a new tradition, myrtle beach started once, who says it has to continue?
