What I did was have the Mrs hold the bars next to the mounted stock ones then measured the difference with a thick guage wire (string would work too) to get a rough idea. Then I went to Magnum's website and looked up the part number based on the + length. Their site lists stock measurement, and lists the longer ones by how much over stock they are. I also shot an email to the manufacturer of my 16" bars (Wild1) and asked them, they were spot on.
I was interested in Barnett cables, but they considered my need to be custom due to the length and therefore I couldn't shop prices without first calling them (and probably paying more for "custom"). Magnum has everything right at your fingertips and the Cromite II looks great. . .

Plus 1 on the Magnum cables, I got the longest they had for my 18" flyin´ apes on a FLSTF. They had ´em called +6 but that is not really stock plus 6 on the fatboy they are way over... Bitchin´looking cables.
