Been watching these shocks on eBay there listed as new air shocks under P.N. 54661-02A. Starting bid is 135.00 and buy now is 175.00. Check new price at Zanotti or Chicago HD. before bidding. They have them for around 100.00 and list them as Lowered Shock Absorbers. None of my H.D. parts catalogs 07 08 09 list that P.N. The books show 54631-02B Profile Low Touring Shocks for 279.95. So can someone tell me what the difference is in these two shocks? Thanks http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...m=130270369776
I bought a set of hd lowered shocks back in 99 for my roadking and they were garbage,I know this is a diff part # but the earlier lower shocks sucked.I bought a Heritage a yr later and it rode much better.I have ridden newer bikes with the lowered shocks and they rode much better than my rdking.
the reason that they are not showing in any p and a catalog is that they are oem shocks. you would find those in the parts manual.
however, i would not pay that price for those shocks. you can find takeoff shocks for a lot better price than that. i've seen them sell for 40 bucks or less.

closes in 4-1/2 hrs and the bid is at 26.00 right now.
but, i have heard that the new 'lowered' shocks, available on the 09 street glide are better than the old generation lowered shocks.

Its winter and the some road king and all streetglide takeoffs 12inch length. These are what I am putting on my rd glide 2006 instead of the after mkt lowering kit I have now. Got mine for 40 bucks shipped.
watch for auctions NOT ending on the weekend as daytime auction endings the watchers are working. Forget to bid.
Also a buddy got a set for 2009 he just got.

i just went to ebay and did a completed item search, there were at least 30 pairs of air shocks that recently sold for less than 40.00. quite a few were in the 10-20 dollar range.
now i didn't check to see which were the full size, and how many were the lowered shocks, but if you are patient, you can get them, and at a very good price.
Thanks guys for all the info, decided not to get in to any rush, have all winter. Might not do anything, just not quit flat footed on 05 ultra. It won't take much. Did put mustang seat on. I'm interested in hearing more about what skratch said (but, i have heard that the new 'lowered' shocks, available on the 09 street glide are better than the old generation lowered shocks.) Anybody else know anything about the 09 lowered shocks.
Thanks
