Does anyone know if there is a part number for the Lower Fairing Cap (order as a separate piece from the entire lower fairing assembly)? Color is Vivid Black if that makes a difference. This is also for the newer style lowers (96+).
sounds like I should go with the primed - probably end up saving a few bucks, and it will probably be quicker to get. I know HD usually takes 6+ weeks for painted parts.
PN#'s are correct. The painted ones are $95.60 and the primed ones are $61.25. HD's vendor direct lead time on painted parts is 8-10 weeks, however, with vivid black is generally a lot less because they do it so often. I'd say 4-6.
Caution--fairing lowers come in unvented (old, pre'05) and vented ('05 and newer) versions AND they require different fairing caps IIRC. If your original post's reference to "'96" was a typo, disregard.
Before you order, confirm that the caps are for your unvented or vented lowers.

Thanks for the head's up. Mine are the unvented type. I'm going to hit up the local part shop, and run it by them to confirm the part number/fit. For some reason they had a hard time tracking down the part numbers of the caps themselves, because the HD part catalog has the lower as all one piece.
