I have the HD Overpass II rain suit and it's OK - good quality, but it doesn't breathe well so you will be a bit uncomfortable in hot weather. But for the money, it's good. The pants were a bit tight, but the jacket fit well for my size. Too bad you can't mix and match the pants and jacket to get the perfect suit.

But my favorite wet-weather suit is my Olympia AST Jacket matched with FirstGear Overpants. This is a pricey combination (over $350 for the set), but it breathes well, is absolutely waterproof, and fits me very well. Each has a separate insulated liner, removable CE armor, and tough as nails. Here's a picture of the combo on a 28 degree morning (very comfy with the Gerbing's heated gear):

I have to admit the best for me has been the Aerostich Darien Lite Jacket and pants. It keeps me dry when its wet.... warm when its cold.... and beleve it or not.... cool when its hot. My fellow Harley riders don't care much for the style... but I perfer function over style now days.

It all boils down on how much riding you plan to do. I ride every day... rain or shine... hot or cold. The only thing that stops me is the application of ROAD SALT by MODOT.

The stuff is made in the USA and can be repaired. The gear is not cheap... but then again neither is my skin. People have ridden around the world in their gear...that alone speaks volumes.

I've got the Tourmaster 2 piece suit. The pants have "Nomex" lining on the inside of the legs to prevent the pipes from burning them. The jacket is the "Sentinel". Keeps me bone dry in any kind of rain. Very light weight and packs down small.

Likes, dislikes, suggested brands and models?

Was looking at the Tourmaster Defender 2-Piece set but maybe want something a bit better.
Save up your money and buy the HD ones... I've had several differant brands, but the HD set has been the best. The ones I bought are made from gore tex, and they breath. It feel's kinda weird when riding in the rain, feels like your getting wet, but your dry... Maybe someone can explain that better than me, they are high quality, but they also carry a higher than normal price.

My theory on HD branded merchandise is that I don't mind paying more to obtain a Harley Motorcycle (or genuine accessories for it) but all the other stuff is just made by someone else for them and private labeled with a higher price. I'll look at the HD Rainsuits since so many here like them but am inclined to buy a Tourmaster set.

I ordered the Tourmaster Defender 2-Piece set and it arrived but I need the next size up and am reselling it on ebay right now. The vendor was FlynCycle and their cus-tomer s-ervice stunk (wont answer any emails, long time to ship etc.) so I am not even trying to return this to them. I may get the next better set, the Elite II series now with the optional Nomex in the pant legs.

What I learned from this thread was about the heat resistant panels in better made pants. I forgot all about that and think that is a must. Forget one piece suits as they are hard to put on and take off, especially if you are portly or big. (Ask me how I know.)

I plan to check out all the recommendations posted before I buy my next suit.

Anyone interested in a brand new Tourmaster Defender 2-Piece suit in Red / Black size XL, let me know. I'll sell if for $40 plus $5 for shipping. The jacket is around a size 48 chest and the pants are 36-40 expandable. jacket expands too some. I have it on ebay right now but will sell it here if anyone wants it. It cost me closer to $65 to buy. You can click the link below in my signature to go to my mufflers then click to see my other auctions for the page with the rainsuit.

I guess I can mention this again that Cyclegear is having 1 day sale (Fri.) on two piece Motoboss rain gear for $19.99. I do not work for them and do not have this suit but for the price and description I just thought I's pass it on.
