Hey Ice. Doing good. Engine is down to the rods. I should have it back together Monday. I've only been home 4 days over the past 2 weeks. I'm doing a HQ 103ST build. Should be pretty snotty when I'm done with it.

Just got a 09 RG. This may have been discussed, but I can not figure out how to search for it. I noticed that water can get under the headlight clear cover. I figure that dirt can get it there also, and eventually build up and make it less clear, and block some of the light coming from the headlights. I want as much light as possible, for visibility. Can the clear plastic cover be popped off for cleaning, or does the front fairing have to come off to get to it? I have a service manual, but there is nothing in it about the cover removal.

it pops off from the outside. there are 4 tabs, near the corners along the top and bottom edges of the cover Use something that won't scratch the paint (I use a popsicle stick) to unlock the tabs and it will pop right out.

I used to take mine off and clean each time I washed the bike, until I got the cover from the SE RG that lets the headlights exposed.

Congrats!! Was it a hard decision to trade down from the SE model to standard FLTR? That was a nice bike you had there but the improvements and pleasure of the 09 will help make up for it I feel.
