I found my problem.
First of all, thanks for all the informative responses. A few minutes ago I went out and checked the pressure in my shocks...0 psi. 
That's right, no air whatsoever. I didn't check it when I first bought the bike. But, I assume they had air in them at that time. This leads to my next question; is it safe to use a small compressor set at, say 10 psi. Or do I stand a chance of breaking something???

Also, mine also came with 0 psi from the dealer...Come on, do you think they would check the psi on the PDI, it's only a $22,000 motorcycle!!!
