Default Question for Road Glide guys

I sat on a Road Glide at the dealer yesterday. My question is about the fairing/windshield. How much wind do you pick up on your hands (using stock bars)?

My buddy just bought a Roadglide that I drove to his home. I gotta tell ya, that bike was smooth as silk and very protective vs the wind. I have a 07 EG Standard with a 14" Clearview shield and his RG is an 08, but the openess of the ride/dash/handlebars was sweet to say the least. I am not trading anytime soon, but will definitely look at a RG when I do.

I had a Road Glide for a year .. Didn't like it. I didn't have a problem with wind across my hands, but I did have a problem with the wind coming around and over the fairing and onto my helmet, and face. With the fairing mounted so far foward, it made a lot of turbulance right where I was sitting. Traded it for a Classic with the batwing fairing and problem went away.

I have Wild 1s 508 bars and I get minimal if any wind on my hands. I also have an oversize Clearview windshield and lowers so I get no buffeting or turbulance.

No more wind on my hands or face than I had on my Valkyrie
for 92k miles.........

I'd probably have difficulties lighting a cigar, but seeing as I
don't smoke its a non-issue.

I have both Ultra Classic and a re-built Road Glide. I swapped out wind shield for the Klockwerks units.

I spend 3800 miles on the UC from Atlanta to Sturgis SD - taller windshield is better
for long haul.

Decision to make is do you prefer fixed fairing or batwing... both are fun.

Little more wind on your hands than a batwing in my experence but not much more, the Road Glide lowers seem to block more air than the Ultra lowers ( I haven't rode one with the adj vents though) A better windshield is a good investment but that also seems to be one of the first things batwinger's change also. Overall not a hugr difference either way, RG's seem a bit better in heavy cross winds vs Batwing's but again it's not a huge difference

I just came from a sg to a rg and the sg has better wind protection for hands and face.
I put a taller shield on the sg to achieve that.
Now I'm getting ready to do it again w/ the rg.
Hands for sure is better w/ batwing but not by much...

To avoid wind on a bike ? Yes it helps w/ long rides and cold rides...
and not to mention music sounds better
