I agree and also ride on sh!tty LA roads. Like you I used the SE Heavy and it made a positive difference, perhaps a bit firmer but in no way harsh. Control is better and I no longer have a problem with bottoming as before. I would recommend this combo, and for anyone who merely wants to change their fork oil, go here and scroll down three messages. This procedure takes about an hour and is much simpler than the one described in the manual. Be advised that this procedure may not work with cartridge forks ('02-'05).

It needs to be emphasized that there are two SE fork oils, heavy and extra-heavy (racing). I can't speak for the latter, as I've never used it.

iclick, it was your post that made me want to change my fork oil early and to the se heavy. and i think it was easier on my road king that it was on your glide. to get to the fork caps, all i had to do was remove my headlight and the windshield. once i did that, the nacelle came right off and i had tons of room to work with.
