Default Front fork oil

Ive got my lowers and cow bells off being powdercoated. When i put the front end back together how much oil does each tube take? Anyone got any tips like does using less or more fork oil make the bike handle better or anything like that? Last thing does anyone have preference on what oil to use (HD, PJ1, ect.)??

I went with the SE Extra heavy, found it too stiff so will switch back to E grade stock oil.

I'm almost positive that the Road Kings take 11.1 oz per leg, and all other touring bikes take 10.8 oz. I used Bel Ray 15w in mine. HD Type E is supposed to be 10w, and the Screamin' Eagle fork oil is supposedly 15w. I can't comment on the ride as of yet, since I'm waiting on a set of tapered chrome wheel spacers I bought from a guy on ebay 2 weeks ago. Apparently he shipped them via camel.

I'm doing mine right now also, my local HD shop told me to stay with the type E oil that I wouldn't like the SE oil. I know alot on here use the SE oil and some seem to really like it and others say it makes the front end stiff. The tech at the HD shop told me to put 11.0 oz in each fork.

To get rid of the nose diving on moderate to heavy braking, go with the SE Heavy (15W).

Manual calls for a little over 10.7 oz, not 11 oz.

A sportbike racer was discussing this we me the other day. He rode my Superglide and hated the braking and the front dip.
I mentioned that I saw a huge difference with fresh oil and that I would probably go stiffer next time.
He said springs handle the dip and the oil handles the rebound. He asked if they have spacers to stiffen the springs. Sounds logical. Any ideas?
