Default RK for Ultra

Was talking with my sales person at the dealership and told him I was ready to trade my 06 Road King for a 09 Ultra, I have always had white bikes and was waiting for them to get in a White and Pewter Pearl, they called me today and said it was here, not really sure I can trade my King away but with all the good things I hear about the improvements to the frame and over all looks I think it is time. What deals are your dealers offering to get bikes sold? Whould like to have a little ammo when i go in to make the deal.

I couldn't imagine trading my RKC for an Ultra. To me, that would be like trading a convertible for a station wagon. Don't get me wrong, the Ultra is a fine bike--comfortable and luxurious; however, I just don't like the idea of carrying a suitcase everywhere I go when I only need a wallet. The RKC has got to be the best looking, coolest, all-around production bike produced today (although the Softail Deluxe and Indian Chief Vintage are a close second). I say keep your King or upgrade to an '09 one with the new frame and ABS.

I wouldn't pay more than M.S.R.P. for sure. Unless I felt that I just had to have right now. Bought mine 2,000 below with 15% discount on all
accessories for 60 days when I got my latest.
Is the economy good or bad in your area? Does the dealer have a lot of bikes on the floor? Are you really wanting to buy now?

All of the above dictates whether it's a good deal or not. Only
you can decide to buy now and not let it get away or wait.

I have a feeling that prices will be coming down as the economy
worsens....Just my opinion and everyone's got'em.
If your trading in your bike, They gotcha.
By the way, You won't regret going to an Ultra. You won't go back!!!

Merry Christmas!!!

Loved my '04 Road King but in '07 went to an Ultra and have never looked back.

The batwing and lowers make the Ultra a true road machine. I really liked the RK when I was shopping for my bike, but in the end the Ultra just said get on me and ride into the sunset. For me anything less then two hours is a shopping trip, anything over two hours and I am glad I have the Ultra.

RK & Ultra are both fine bikes! I looked at both and chose the Ultra and am glad I did. Got my 09 $1,000.00 under MSRP and they thru in a 100.00 helmet for the wife and an extra headset, The Ultra only comes with one headset.

Did the exact same thing as you did. Traded in my '06 RKC for a brand new Ultra. Didn't regret one a bit except that I miss the RKC's beachbars. Took me some time to get used to the narrow handlebar on the Ultra. Gotta love the extra storage Ultra provides along with it's luxurious ride like a Caddy.

Only if I got the extra money...I'd buy another RKC with beachbars in a heartbeat.

I got a 06 EG Classic. Love that bike. I have a deposit down on a 09 RK. Yeah,
two bikes and the best of both worlds. Both are great tour bikes, with the EG
having the edge. But I can make that RK anything I want it to be.... Tour or Hot
Rod..... This was not easy.. I'm a old Geezer, and alot of hard work and saving before this happened............ hdman

Had an '05 RKC before my Ultra and I loved that bike. Rode all over the country with it and enjoyed every mile. Like others have said, the RKC is a GREAT looking bike. Now that I have the Ultra, I'm worried that the country isn't big enough. It is that nice to ride! Get the Ultra now or you'll be getting it later.
