Default Chrome Hand Levers

Santa brought me the Chrome Hand Levers kit for my RK (38843-08). I'm reading the instructions and it says I need to drain the front brake fluid. Not sure why that has to be done.

Has anybody installed them on their FLH and did you have to drain your brake fluid? These levers are for the 08 and later FLH's.

Thanks,

I have a set on mine and no you don't have to drain anything. Pull the C Clip off the pin, slide the pin out, remove lever and install in reverse order.

I installed them on my RG. The biggest concern is not damaging the brake light micro switch that is in the housing.

do not know of newer bikes but on older it is very very important to put a piece of cardboard were the switch is located or it could tear the nipple off the stop switch as you close it all up...would cause brake light to stay ON all the time..
