I will be changing out my pipes in the next couple of weeks. I have decided to go with either the Reinharts or the V&H slip on's. I will not be changing the air breather or making any other modifications to my bike. I heard through friends that it is not necessary to add a Power Comander or other version of the same. I have been told the bike's ECM will perform well even after changing the pipes because difference in air flow restriction is not that great from my stock pipes. Does anyone care to give me another opinion?

Thanks
Well since you asked for an opinion, I'd say that your performance might not suffer too much, but you will probably still run a little leaner and get more heat.
It sounds like you really don't care too much about performance right now and are simply looking for better sound and appearance. So unless you're partial to the black tips on the Rineharts, I'd suggest considering Rush or Jackpots. The Rush pipes have a boatload of tip options as well as multiple baffle options. Check-em out at rushracingproducts.com.
I personally don't like the sound of my Rineharts. I'll be trying a baffle wrap to see if I can mellow them out. If not, I'll be going with Rush since they now make a slip-on that'll work with my 2 inch RInehart True Dual head-pipes.
But the best piece of advice I'll give you is to ignor my opinion and call Jamie or Kieth at Fuel Moto and talk to them before you do anything.
I was told to vary the speeds the first 100 miles also but that ment staying out of 6th gear, they did not want it lugged. So I did for what it is worth and seems to be doing just fine. Now after almost a year I have 7300 miles on and still enjoying every minute of it.
So I guess take it some what easy the first 100 miles or so then as long as you vary your rpms, ride it like you plan on riding it for the life of your ride..And it doesn't sound like it will be a problem letting the dealer put all the good stuff on it before it leaves the shop. Sweet. Thanks all.
Now all I need is A) For it to get hear and B) The cold weather to leave. It's 10 degrees out!!!
Actually that's a very good approach. Think of it this way, from the first time you crank it up, that is when the most friction occurs. New stuff rubbing against new stuff. For the first miles or so, the friction is trying to "balance" itself with the restriction = rings against the cylinder walls. The more the things "rub" against each other = the less friction. So, it's kinda like getting everything coming to a happy medium. Hope this helps......
Dealer told me to break in the bike (1,000 mi.) before installing pipes. The stock pipes get a little louder after a 1000 miles. The dealer also told me to avoid a dyno on a new bike because it was hard on the engine.
My 09 SG should be here in late January and I am having Rineharts, a stage 1 breather and what the dealer said is a HD brand commander. Not sure about that one as opposed to say the V&H commander. Anyhow, they are installing everything as soon as the bike comes in. They told me they will program the commander with a generic map that should be fine for the first 1000 miles then they will dyno it and Dial it in. A "friend" of mine said that most of the time no dealer will even put pipes on until the bike has 1000 miles on it. I don't see the problem but I thought I would ask the pros..
I bought an 09 SG saturday with a Screamin Eagle Heavy breather and rush Slip-ons. My dealer has done a lot of testing on the 09 SG and they state that the bike can handle the change with no tuner or dyno. The 09 bikes redesigned controller can handle the change. If your dealer is selling you tuners and dyno time they are ripping you off!
