Biketronics Install operational problem
Merry Christmas all!! I got a Sony GT 520 bikretronics plug and play setup for my 06 Road Glide. Installation was as easy as everyone has said. Only problem is, my handle bar controls will not work the radio. I tried reinserting the 1/8 inch stereo plug, Which caused the radio to go into ATT (noise Aneunication mode). had to turn the radio off and back on again to get the sound back. Also the volume dial on the radio itself will not adjust the volume. I can adjust the volume with the remote that came with the radio. last night before going to bed, I unplugged disconnected the battery and unplugged everything, going to try and do it all over again this morning. But was wondering if anyone here had experienced simlilar issues when installing the bikeronics setup? one other thing, at one point I removed the radio face plate and hit the reset button on the radio , hoping that would do the trick, it didn't help either.
Weather is supposed to be near 60 on Sunday, need to put the fairing back on and be ready to ride!!!
Thanks in advance

Is the headunit new or used? If the headunit is new, problem is probably not with it.
Have either of the switch housings been reinstalled (for chrome switch caps, housings, cruise, etc.)? If so, check for pinched wire(s).
IIRC, the plug from the interface unit to the back of the radio should have the cord at the 12 o'clock position.
Call Biketronics.
What year is the bike, and which interface unit did you buy? I could easily be mistaken, but doesn't Biketronics offer different interface units for some of the older (say 10+ years or so) bikes?
Good luck with your project. This may be the first post I've read where there was a problem with a Biketronics installation; certainly one of very, very few if not the first.

We've put in these systems with basically no problems at all. I think you will find it is either simple or the unit is defective. Be sure to check the push to talk button for the CB. If it is stuck in, the volume control will not work. Also did the volume control work before or is this the first radio for this bike?? Pm Me you phone number and I will call you.
All brand new, controls were all working when I removed the HK. Going out now reconnect everything, if that doesnt work, will call biketronics. Bike is an 06 Road Glide. Plug is in the 12 oclock position. Also swtiches are stock and have never been removed
Thanks
Thanks

Hooked everything back up, still no volume control on the radio or the handlebars. Will have to wait till noon to call biketronics, not a happy camper at the moment.
I understand your frustration but biketronics customer serv. is top notch , they will make it right!
They had me do a few checks, one check even involved a paper clip. To make a long strory short, they shipped me a new control module today. Should be here on Monday. I can control the volume with the radio face with the module stereo 1/8th inch jack unplugged, so I might put the faring back on and go riding this weekend. 55 tomorrow and 60 on Sunday.
Sony radio is LOUD!!! just the way I like it.
Ride safe,
Bill

I am having the EXACT problem with my new BT1000 install on my 2002 Ultra. What was the final answer to the problem; the Biketronics unit or the head unit?
Considering it tool me over an hour to find a problem in the blogs I would agree it must be very rare. The Sony GT930UI rocks as well!!! Hard to see in the sun however.

I had this problem and it turned out to be a pinched wire in the right handlebar switch mount. I removed the clamp and repositioned the wire loom behind the clamp, then everything worked OK.
