Just put a permanent mount tour pak on my 08 Roadie.
Has anyone seen an alternative to the ugly plate they use
for the license plate mount?
The mount plate also supports the tour pak so I need something other than
an aftermarket license plate bracket.

Relocate with the Kury plate that drops it down the fender a bit and nicely curves it. While you are at it replace the rear lights with Kury's bullets... So nice to tell others how to spend their money.... but I bought the stuff and haven't the time yet to put it on!
I had one of these on my last bike ( 06 FLHT ) http://www.harley-davidson.com/gma/g...bmLocale=en_US
Supports the tour pack and gives additional light to the rear quite well.
It just replaces the original license plate upright.
PM me if you want a good deal on it.

I have the same problem, but my solution is simple. I bought a nice HD frame. Next I'm going to cut the metals wings "red squares on pic" off. For the life of me, I don't know what good they are. My license plate is slightly different than yours though.
I took mine off, cut it down a bit to clean it up, painted it black, and put it back on. That seemed to hide it a bit compared to how it used to look.
That's the pain in the *** part of the permanent tourpak mount.........you have to use the stock license plate mount because it supports the tourpak as well.
If I had a water jet machine I could sure make some cool designs to make it look better.
Thanks for the help.
I think I'll use csmhog and mainultraclassic's ideas and cut it down
and paint it. Any problem with the paint chipping off the chrome or
did you blast it first?
