Thumbs up First Ultra Ride

Well a few days ago I let you all know how strange it felt to take the RoadKing on our final ride to pick up the new Ultra. The RoadKing is a awesome bike and each curve I couldn't help but think, I didn't want to trade him. But today I will tell you that I now understand why there is such a passion for the Ultras. I love to ride, have for many years, from a kid, a know it all teenager, a young father, and now a ol geezer. LOL I had test rode a 08 Ultra last year and honestly, didn't like it, maybe cause I knew it wasn't mine and didn't give it a chance. With sunny skies and mid 50 temperatures I took out. I played around the neighborhood for a few blocks with braking, stopping, and slow riding. Awesome handling in all areas. Before I knew it I was 75 miles from home having rode mostly the back winding roads. Easy, Smooth, kinda like good wiskey. Ok time to hit I-70 back home. Oh let me tell you how proud I am to be a ol geezer. The Ultra is as smooth as is powerful. I know that with this Ultra my riding seasons will now be extended by having the fairing, enjoyed having music, even thou I honestly didn't listen to it much. I wanted to hear the roar of the motor, the pipes. I am still smiling as I type this, cause honestly I got that deep down feeling in the gut today, been a long time. So today, tonight, I am ok with not being a RoadKing Rider.

P.S. My wish list grew a little longer today, so unfortunatley new and bigger still didn't cure my chrome and accessory addiction.

Sheesh don't let the secret out! I finally got out today myself these are really fun bikes to ride. Throw away your 09 wishbook or it will get expensive real quick.

I'm riding my second Ultra. Awesome motorcycling. The 96 motor is just the right combination for a great ride. I've ridden baggers all my life, but starting with the 02 Ultra, I've really enjoyed riding these bikes more than any other.

Default Ultra Classic

I tried to make my 07 Street Glide into the bike I wanted and gave up and broke down and bought an 09 Ultra Classic. It has everything that I was trying to make my Street Glide to be. The top box, lowers, windshield, seat, cruise control, and now I am not sure why I bought that model. After a couple of thousand dollars and still not where I wanted to be, and realizing that I will never have ABS brakes, I gave in and bought the 09 Ultra. Now I have ABS, Cruise, windshield heighth, lowers and a top box. It is heavier, but all worth it. Also, the engine wobble is taken care of with the new frame. This bike rocks!!!!!!!!!
