With the EPA regulations coming out in 2010 it looks like the Jackpot mufflers is the way of the future for sound & performance, especially new Harleys; maybe Fuelmoto is getting a jump on aftermarket performance mufflers.

The dB level is very close to the same between the 1.75 and Dyno Tuned baffles, the Dyno tuned has a bit deeper tone and is slightly louder at full throttle. With the Dyno tuned baffles you will see 3-4 fl lbs more Tq which carries thru pretty much the entire RPM range and HP is about 2 more as well. Actually the main reason we build the Classic muffler with the choice of 1.75 or 2.00 baffle is for customers with Tru duals, although they work good with the stock headpipes as well.

I love the sound of the Jackpots. I know Jamie is reading this but I am going to give an honest critique of the mufflers after about 9000 miles on them.

1. Sound - thumbs up for me. Pretty much perfect.
2. Power gain - excellent. As advertised.

Now I do have some quality issues and in all fairness Jamie did attempt to correct the problems.

1. When I first got mine the right pipe turned yellow at the baffle head. Jamie sent me a new muffler with a heat shield. Apparently I was running a bit rich and letting off the throttle was allowing air in the pipes and igniting the unburnt fuel combined with the baffle head being a hot spot. I ended up tearing down the entire exhaust system and using Ultra Copper on every joint. Problem still was not solved. After a couple thousand miles I found the location of the leak because of carbon marks. It is the slit for the clamp at the head of the muffler. Well the solution is to push the muffler all the way forward. The problem with this is that now the right muffler is fully an inch forward of the left muffler pushed all the way on. Eventually I found a compromise position where it is not so noticeable. The compromise position takes a crap load of Ultra Copper on the right to get them to seal. Not real happy with fit and finish.

Problem number two:

The baffles work loose. At first I thought something had rattled loose on my bike. Every time I stopped there was an awfully loud rattling sound. After a few weeks I figured out it was the left baffle. I called Jamie and they told me it happens and to take the baffle out and put a couple of pings in the front of the baffle which I did. Unfortunately I had to use a block of wood and a hammer to get the baffle back in. In the process of doing that I slightly damaged the shell of the pipe. Apparently my block of wood was a little harder than I thought. Now it is kind of annoying to look at. Just recently the right baffle started rattling. I'm dreading taking that one out. I kind of just want to ride the thing.

At any rate Jamie may already have these issues worked out. I was a very early Jackpot customer. Actually I believe I was the first guy to order them. When I have contacted Jamie he has been helpful but still a year later I am a bit frustrated.

I first put the dynotuned jackpots on my 09 SG. Way too quiet for me. Then went with the larger right baffle. A little better, but still too quiet. I ended up putting 2" Wild Pig baffles in both pipes. Sounds a lot better just sitting there and I won't really get a chance to hear them on the road until spring. I had the pigs on my 01 RKC and really liked the sound.

That is really troubling to hear...I am really surprised that Jamie has not sent you a whole new set. Also did you get the complete package with the A/C and PC or just the slip-ons?

You couldn't send them back under warranty?

I already had the SE air cleaner so I just ordered the PCIII and the Jackpots. I also want to say that the system has performed as advertised and Jamie took the time to do custom maps for my bike after the running rich stuff.

I am not railing on Jamie at all, He in my mind is an honest business man. I am frustrated with fit and finish and he may already have these issues worked out. I really debated on whether to write this or not but felt I should put it out there. As I know all to well when developing a product there are going to be unanticipated problems and at some point you have done all you can do to make a situation right. I do know Jamie is upside down with working on my problems already and you don't stay in business if you do too much of that.

FX4, in all fairness I will add a bit more to your story. First of all as you know you recieved a very early set of our mufflers before they were actually in production, this is not our production Jackpot muffler. As in one of your former posts on this forum back in May you noted yours were the first set of these mufflers that we actually shipped, again not our actual Jackpot production muffler. You have stated your concearns here about these mufflers, but why did you not give us a call with them as we would and still will gladly take care of any issues and send you another set of mufflers no problem, without question. We have sold many, many sets of these mufflers and the warranty rate is well below 1% and we stand behind these mufflers 100%

I do not know what you are saying here, if you simply would have contacted us we would have and still will glady replace your mufflers escpecially knowing your mufflers were a pre-production set. These simply are not problems we see with these mufflers. If you have concearns feel free to call me at 877-729-4754

Yes, we would glady warranty any mufflers that have an issue or simply do not meet our customers standards. We strive to offer the best quality products with the best customer service in the industry. This is one of the reasons that we chose to manufacture our own mufflers and start the Jackpot brand, we wanted to have complete control over the product from the development and production stages right down to the warranty without having to involve a third party.
