Default Looking for good Florida roads???

Hi all, happy new year. We are getting geared up to go down to Florida next month and I'm wearing the map out finding a good route. We went back in March and rode down the west coast to Key West and back up the east coast. We enjoyed the east coast alot more so we are going to ride it again either going down or coming back, but I'd like to know some good roads to ride running north to south. I have looked at my scenic route map and there's just not anything much showing up in Florida. I'd like to avoid the high traffic areas and red lights as much as possible.

Being from Missouri, and it being Jan. 1st, i can't imagine Florida right now with any bad roads. Good luck on your search, and be safe.

Apparently there aren't any roads there. There's always someone on here talking about Florida, suddenly no one wants to talk about it.

Ride state road 13 from Southside of Jax down to Hasting's, and then go out to the beach and ride A1A down the beach from St. Augustine to Daytona. Not the fastest way, but a very nice ride.

All you have to do is post this in the members meeting members section I am sure you will get some maps and answers. I think you should ride the back roads down the center of the state. Just post in the MMM section you will get the info you are looking for and maybe some company on your ride down.

I've ridden US 27 from Cincinnati to Miami and prefer it to the super slabs in Florida. Less traffic but still there is plenty of cages and plenty of lights.....it is still Florida. There are plenty of roads in the central part that are lightly traveled but they meander quite a bit. Just get yourself a map and go exploring......I enjoy riding the central part of the state just because not many others do ! But for a North/South route from point A to B...I would go 27.

If you are going to the Keys try the back way. Take 27 to Chrome Ave. (how is that for a great Harley road name) in Miami, Chrome will drop you off on US 1 near Florida City, then take Card Sound Road, stopping at Alabama Jacks for Conch fritters and chowder, there is a toll for the bridge but the road is worth it. Card Sound Road will drop you off on A1A in Key Largo where you may want to stop at the Fish House for more great Florida food, heading south when you get close to Key West stop at Baby's Coffee (on the Atlantic side) for the best coffee in Florida. When you hit Key West try the Blue Fish Red Fish for more great Conch chowder. Best of luck!
