Smile Another happy HQ 107 owner

Got the bike from the indy on 12-29-08. Exactly one year and one day after I had the HQ 500 cams installed and started my insatiable lust for torque! I was able to get about 75 miles on it over three rides before the roads started to ice over.

All I can say is WOW! I broke it in just like PhilM said in one of his many posts. Did some roll ons from 30 mph to 60 then let it coast back down to 30. It was amazing feeling the power build each time I did that. This thing is scary strong and the auto tuner isn't even putting out max power because I don't have enough seat time, yet. About 150 miles should take care of that.

You can hear the difference from the pipes at start up. What a great rumble coming from the fatcats. Twisting the wrist just lets out more of the beast! You can feel it in the rumble of the seat before you even put the bike in gear. After the break in and first oil change I took it out on the highway and was doing 75 before I knew it.

Again, props to PhilM and Dalton who, in answering other folks here on the forum turned me on to HQ and their products, as well as Doug and Kevin for their customer service and their desire to make power, smiles, happy bikers, and more power!

I can't wait for warmer weather and the chance to get out and ride!
Brian

Congratulations Brian! Those pipes sound just a tad richer don't they, not to mention the torque on demand that seems to last forever.

you have the best of both worlds, the 107 on a 07 bike is a mild to wild beast with the twist of the throttle -- my first experience with HQs 103 on my (sold) 07 SG I was out in the cul de sac making noise thought I was going to hit the throttle and burn rubber instead it did a wheelie -- I learned to work the clutch to get it sideways.

Congrats on you build --- when I sold my bike it had very close to 24k miles not one motor issue.

With the auto-tune system is it necessary to take the bike to a dyno? Or is everything plug and play?

Way to go Brian!! I am a ways behind you and Kevin but my project is underway. I'm waiting for oil pump parts ( sides of gerotors scored). I also appreciate Guy and Phil's post's as I'm doing the work myself. Enjoy the ride.

no need for dyno with the auto tune as long as you have a decent base map -- I will more than likely have one for sale next week -- waiting for the check from the insurance before I start selling parts off of it

It's plug and play, just put the miles on it to get the two acquainted with each other. No dyno necessary.
This is the first time my indy used HQ. He was pushing other brands so I told him he could do the HQ build or I would find someone else would.
They were very impressed with HQ and Doug's work. He wants to compare it to the other builds he's done so they offered to put it on the Dyno for free after I get the miles on her for the auto tuner.
I told him we have a deal just so long as he prints two pages...one for me to post here and the other for him to put up on his wall.
Now if only this damn ice would melt.

Congrats,
Looking at doing the same setup. Just in the planing process now. Had a guy the other day try and tell me it's too radical a setup and would cause a lot of strain of the engine. Thanked him for his advise and moved onto another topic to talk about.

Congrats on the build; I'm sure you will be very, very happy with it--just don't pick on the guys running the CVO 110's--hate to see grown men cry.

Kevin from HQ supervised a 107" HQ ST build at Stone Mountain, GA HD several weeks ago on an '09 RG that the dealership did as a demo bike for HQ kits (the owner did an HQ 120 for his personal bike). The demo bike sold and the guy said he wasn't going to buy at Stone Mtn., but did because of the 107.
