I get 35MPG around town solo and 46-49 MPG on freeway trips 2up running 70 to 75 MPH.
I know I was running way lean in the begining with the stage 1, but at 500 miles I had her Dyno tuned with the PCIII and at the 1000 mile service went to all synthetic. She runs like the great machine she was intended to be.
I'm getting about 37mpg (at least based on my last fillup). I was riding 2-up though for about half of it.
05 FLHTI, SE AC, Thunderheaders, and PCIII USB. I just put the PC and Headers on about 3 weeks ago though, so I think I just need to tweak it some, I was getting about the same (maybe a little better) when I just had the Stage 1 on it.
Wow, good numbers. Rich lean could be a concern however a too lean condition can and usually does cause a mileage drop. Requires more throttle to gain the same amount of "work" from each cylinder filling. Spark plugs are a limited way to inspect. The correct way is with a 4-way gas analizer.
Here is what you need to know...
High HC and/or High O2= ignition misfire or misfire due to lean running condition or vacuum leak (same thing as a lean condition).
NOX... we don't worry about that too much on Harley's yet. Mostly controlled by EGR systems and believe it or not cam profiles.
CO... this is the big number we are all concerned about. 3% CO is a universal good number to achieve for performance but not what comes out your tail pipe. Most of the time but not always an accurate indicator.
% C O/2... meassures combustion efficiency. Above 13% is good. The higher the number the more completely your engine works the fuel. It is very difficult to get above 14.5 percent.
Yup, that's right. 45 mpg. Installed SE Pro slash cut, stage 1 A/C, Vance and Hines Fuelpak last Saturday, went from a dismal 37 mpg, 1 up to 45 mpg 2 up! My range before the change was about 170 miles. Now, 230 miles....WOW!
I rode 230 miles yesterday on one tank of gas before I filled up. The power increase is noticable, throttle response, greatly improved. Of course the sound, well, it sure don't sound like a Gold Wing anymore. The upgrades were $600.00 +/-, but money well spent.
Done the install myself, saved a couple of hundred dollars (HD'S). Install is easy, if you can read, you can install[sm=smiley20.gif]
I have so many people to thank...Zanotti's, Eastern performance parts, Bloomington Harley-Davidson/Buell, HDForum members for thier support, thank you, thank you[sm=TY.gif]

Congrats on the good milage. I only get about 43 mpg riding double and about 37mpg when riding single????? Think I ride a bit differently without Mama?[sm=badbadbad.gif]
Geez!!! I wish I could get 40 mpg. Got 42-43 when bike was new. Installed PCIII, SE AC, and V&H Turndown SOs at 500 miles. Had a generic map done. MPG went to 31. Had bike dynoed at 1K. Nice even curve. 63 hp, 72 tq. Mileage rose to 38- 39. Anyone have any suggestions on why so poor??
38-39 isn't poor, so don't look for something wrong thats not there. If your dyno is right on then you have the bike tuned correctly, the only other factor would be how you work the throttle, and the term "Your Mileage Will Vary" does apply. Like Tripper said, 43 double, 37 single.
