06 Ultra...45 MPG, 2 UP
Yup, that's right. 45 mpg. Installed SE Pro slash cut, stage 1 A/C, Vance and Hines Fuelpak last Saturday, went from a dismal 37 mpg, 1 up to 45 mpg 2 up! My range before the change was about 170 miles. Now, 230 miles....WOW!
I rode 230 miles yesterday on one tank of gas before I filled up. The power increase is noticable, throttle response, greatly improved. Of course the sound, well, it sure don't sound like a Gold Wing anymore. The upgrades were $600.00 +/-, but money well spent

Done the install myself, saved a couple of hundred dollars (HD'S). Install is easy, if you can read, you can install[sm=smiley20.gif]

I just checked my milage last night - 39 mpg. Just got the Ultra a week ago. I have 400 miles on it. Everything is still stock.
Is it just my imagination or are my pipes getting a little louder with break-in?
I still haven't decided what pipes I might change too yet?
So, can you hear your bike when riding with others?

WOW ! All I can say is SWEEEETT ! I'm at 39 mpg after stage 1, SE slip ons & SERT. Does a little better on the highway. For a stock set up it seems to have plenty of power. If you gun it in 1st, 2nd, or 3rd gear it snaps you back. I didn't install & dyno the SERT until 2000 miles and had the can download on it after 500 miles of break in. They did for free since I bought the SERT when I puchased the bike. With the can download I was getting around 34 mpg and the bike was NOT running as good as it could. After the SERT, gas mileage went back up and power increase was substantial. !

I have to agree. While 45 mpg is great, I would be pulling plugs to see what they look like just to make sure.

Of course running lean is also a concern of mine. However, I'm getting no coughing/backfire out of the breather which would indicate a lean running condition. I do get a little popping through the exhaust on decel, which indicates slightly rich. I will be pulling the plugs today to read those just for peace of mind. Like Loch said, the mileage I am getting is the advertised mpg that HD puts out there in print though doesn't even come close to.
Once I take a look at the plugs, and as long as they are not white...I'm gonna ride it like a rental. I've got two years of warranty.

Now I don't feel so bad. My 2005 RG has 14k on it and with a stage1 kit and stock exhaust I am getting 50 commuting to work and it drops to about 46-48 on the road loaded. I did get 60 once when I ran at 55-60 all day. It must be the altitude in Colorado.
