I've been using Pledge for years. Yep, I've tried so many products, some actually harmed the surfaces, most left hard to remove smears or residue. Pledge is the best I've found for all around detailing in every respect. Because it's cheaper than most is just a bonus.

Pledge isn't for wood by the way. It's for the clear coat coatings that are covering the wood. It has no wax in it according to the material safety data sheet. All I know that it works well on bikes and I will always use it.

On edit I'd to add that because the secret of using Pledge is out I would expect a motorcycle version to come out at 3 times the price. And it will sell like hot cakes. teehee

Adds a protective barrier so messes don’t stick
PledgeŽ Protection Plus+ is ideal for quickly cleaning everyday messes. It protects surfaces so messes don’t stick. In fact, spills and messes are three times easier to clean up.** This furniture spray removes dust, dirt, smudges, and common allergens like pet dander found in dust from your wood furniture in a flash. It also helps protects against water damage and stains.

A perfect spray for maintaining the beauty of frequently used wood surfaces:
Protective barrier means messes don’t stick
Leaves a clean shine
Helps protect against spills, stains, and everyday wear
Removes up to 84% of allergens from dust mites and pet dander found in dust
No waxy buildup—that’s the beauty of PledgeŽ
Can also be used on stainless steel, leather, marble and granite
Has a clean, fresh scent
Directions for use:
Shake well before using. Spray onto a soft, clean cloth or hold container upright and spray directly onto surface from about eight inches away.
Wipe surface immediately. If the surface is unknown, first test on an inconspicuous area to check results.
**compared to surfaces not treated with PledgeŽ Protection Plus+

Not that's funny! Maybe you should try a coarser steel wool to get out those ridges!

I don't think the Pledge is really removing scratches, just masking them. Once it weathers off I think the scratches will be visible again. This is my guess, so someone please verify.

OTOH, Novus is a plastic polish and works very well. For fine scratches the Novus #1 will likely remove them, but I use #3 for deeper wounds. I have been using Rejex on all smooth surfaces of the bike every six months, including the WS, and using only water or water and car-wash concentrate for cleaning.

Lets make that 3 of us at least. I think this was developed for aircraft windshields (also plexiglass). At least pilots use it and pilot shops sell it.

been using Pledge on helmet sheilds for many years, bugs don't stick as well. After reading a post here last year, I began using it for a quick detailer. Great product!
