Default Elect Grips vs Elect Gloves

At the risk of the polls getting 'old', that's what might help me most. I'm in great shape elsewhere but the hands are going to suffer.

Grips don't sound like the way to go but were recommended by HOG members tonight at a dinner. Shows I don't know all that's needed to know. Seems to me your fingers and top side of hands would get cold...?

I understand Gerbing's no longer going to make the elect gloves so we have to think about their liners. Sounds logical. Comfort? I've got 3xl gloves so fit shouldn't be a problem.

Any and all opinions appreciated!
Tkx so much!!

I like both. Gloves for when it's REALLY cold out all day long. Heated grips for fall and spring, and shorter rides in winter as well if you don't mind using bar mitts (hippo hands, etc.).

Btw, lots of options besides Gerbing when it comes to heated gloves.

If you sell the bike the grips go too,at least you can keep the gloves.

I have never had either but the elec glove liners appeal to me. However, I know that sooner or later I will hop off my bike and rip all the wiring out.

Maybe I better try the grips.

Apparently the HD heated grips are removable.

Default Grips vs. Gloves

09RKC,
Where did you hear Gerbings is not going to make gloves anymore? They have a G3 heated glove that has not been out that long.Suppose to be a improvement on there old style. Many on this forum have had problems with the Harley heated grips. Do a search on the topic. The gloves stay with you and the grips go with the bike. Just my .02!

I haven't found a need to try the heated grips. I know the heated gloves work

I've use the Gerbings G3 heated gloves for over a year. Being a retired Industrial maintance guy, my hands get stiff and sometimes hurt when the weather changes. I ride with them sometimes in the summertime. Yes they seemed bulky when I first put them on, but after I got them broke in, it's no problem. The second part of it is they cut down on vibration when wearing them when the hands hurt. They work just as well when driving a chage.

I have the heated gloves and feel no need for heated grips.
