Yep, the same thing is happening to mine and only after 5 months, service says the whole unit would have to be replaced. It seems to be that little tab is just not holding well enough, they seem to be aware of the problem but they do have to get approval in order to replace it.
Working with them but you must be persistent on getting it done. It's a shame the don't have a door replacement, oh well.

I had this problem. I used to pull the tab down with my fingertip. Worked for a month on average with me never using a cd. Finally solved the problem, put a kenwood in with no more door problems and more volume.

I put a tiny smear of lithium grease on the tap at every service. The friction of opening and closing wears the plastic. However, you don't want the grease to get on your CD's. I'm thinking of trying a strip of 3-M clear chip guard on the radio portion to act as a friction barrier. Worse case, after warranty, velcro dot!
